Happy Birthday to our Baby Girls

On this your fourth birthday, we wish you a Happy Birthday!

Looking at you now, my mind wanders back to that day, not so long ago, when you joined our family. Little did we know then, all the joy you would bring to our family.

Along with the joy that you brought to our home that day, you brought tears, sleepless nights, nervousness, laundry, bottles and formula, social workers, court dates, and paperwork.  BUT, you also brought excitement to our lives, the color pink to our house, sweet baby smells (along with a few not so sweet baby smells), lots of giggles, the sounds of 'Mama' and 'Daddy' once you learned to talk, the pitter patter of your little feet once you learned to walk, singing, and an excuse to watch cartoons again. You fulfilled my dream as a teenager, to be a mom to twin girls...you made us Mommy and Daddy for the first time.

Oh, the many, many things you have gotten in to. Tupperware all being pulled out of the cabinets, pulling dirty, yucky diapers off in your bed, smearing diaper rash cream in each other's hair effectively making you both look like greased pigs, spilling whole boxes of cheerios and goldfish, marking all over your legs and faces with markers, spilling a whole bottle of foundation makeup on the carpet...I'll stop now. But, your sweet moments, you know, when you randomly say, 'I love you bunch';  share a toy with your sisters; obey without being told twice, it makes me forget about those messy moments...well, sort of.

Happy Birthday, Baby Girls! What a wild, wonderful ride we have been on so far. We love you so much and thank God for bringing you to us.

Love,

Daddy and Mommy

Countdown to Thanksgiving-Day 1

To countdown the days until Thanksgiving, I thought I'd do a picture (or two) a day of things that I am thankful for using the alphabet.

I am thankful for...

Adoption
The adoption is FINALLY official as of last Friday. The judge has signed our papers and it is finished! Hallelujah! Anyways, so this has been a long road, but I am so thankful for the opportunity the Lord gave us to adopt these precious girls.

Yay!

Praise the Lord, we FINALLY got our adoption packet for Ruth and Naomi in the mail today! We have to have ANOTHER homestudy, and fill out lots of paperwork, but the end is now in sight! Thank you to everyone who has prayed for this-maybe they will be legally ours before they turn 3!

This was a picture of us the day that we got them. I forgot how little and bald they were until I saw this picture-the time has went by so fast!
